We are a small team based out of Hamilton in New Zealand. Both the Driver (Tony Differ) and Co-Driver (Jayson Stringer) have been involved with rallying for many years, both returning to the sport after more than a decade away each.
Tony took possession of the EX Lancer from multi-time National Champion Bruce Herbert in July 2025. The car has an immense heritage within the New Zealand rallying scene, something the pair are keen to carry on building.
Tony made a name for himself as one of the fastest “blind” rally drivers around (no pace notes) and with the new car has decided that pacenotes have become somewhat of a necessity if he wanted to be genuinely quick.
Tony reached out to his friend and now Co-Driver (Jayson) to come out of a 14 year retirement and get back in the car - It didn’t take much of an arm bend, it was a VERY short conversation to be fair! Jayson had spent many years as a co-driver calling notes including winning the 2008 NZ Rally Championship in the 2WD class.
Competing in the 2026 NIRS (North Island Rally Series) in the highly competitive “Class D” for >2001cc 2WD cars, the boys have renewed their rivalries and friendships with the likes of Charlie Evans, Dave Strong, Phil Broadbent, and Chris Ramsay.
The EX Lancer is a genuine weapon. Powered by an unrestricted 1800cc turbo single-cam 4G63T Mitsubishi engine coupled to a Tractive 6-speed sequential gearbox it makes for an amazing combination! MCA suspension ensures that the car does what it needs to do under both braking and acceleration.
